Hi, my name is Zaid Humayun. I’m curious about how computers work, and this website is where I document what I learn.

I’m primarily interested in databases and systems programming. I’m currently doing my Master’s in Computer Science at USC, working with Professor Shahram Ghandeharizadeh at the FLS Lab on an AI data plane.

Projects

One of my ongoing projects is simpledb — an in-process SQL engine I’m building with a focus on high performance, with the goal of passing the YCSB benchmark.
